The Memory Tube, also called "Record Tube" or "Identification Capsule", is a leak-resistant glas cylinder that is threaded into a corner of a casket. If the casket is disentombed, in case of natural disasters or for any other reasons, the Memory Tube is assured to stay intact, and the identity of the deceased can easily be known without opening the casket.
